Found this brass object in an area where I have found a bunch of Civil War artifacts. Within feet of US Belt Buckle, 3 ring bullets, buttons, etc. Does anyone know what it is? Thanks

Yes, it's absolutely a CW artifact. It may be to a carbine sling/adjuster, but at the moment I'm oatmeal for brains and can't pin the name on it.

I think that is a belt support for a Federal regulation rifleman's buckle. I think. Good find anyway!
