hey guys, I live in Oroville, Ca on an old gold mine ( The Denver Mine} As far as I know this mine was different from many others in that the ore could be mined on the surface
Anyhow its got me pretty jazzed about the prospect of hunting around for treasure and perhaps learning something in the process. It is my understanding that the ore was not a "quartz sourced?" rather there was some mention made to "Denver ore was associated with a greenstone? another source called it some green A****ite?, cant remember what he said. I have explored several exposed quartz veins on the property. one yields very clear crystals now and again, the other presents a "silvery metallic ribbon" through the material, as seen in the tooth shaped piece. im sending 3-4 pics, hope they are clear enough...
Theres loads of black sand on our beach
I cant help but ask whether this is similar to what I would be looking for if I wanted a gold bearing quartz?
Ive seen smoky quartz here, and ive seen quartz with red and green hues or constituents. (sulfites?)
I was told by someone else that seeing banding in quartz, with signs of iron and sulfites, can be a good sign?
Anyway I sure would appreciate t5he help. I placed a mini led flashlight in the pics for scale. niether of these rocks measure more than 2" in any direction. thank you very much
