What is it? Smashed bullet?button? NOT magnetic

Found this at the plantation, outside of slave quarters. I have no idea what it is . It ahs some weight to it, and its not magnetic

Looks like the "lead head" off of a lead head roofing nail. I have found several around old barns.

Paula, it is definitely the lead from a "lead-head" roofing nail. I've used them. Turtlefoot13 and Cheese are absolutely correct. If you want proof, take it to a Home Depot store and ask the Hardware Department staff about it. They'll probably also show you some unused lead-head roofing nails, so you can see what they look like for yourself.

Yep.....Commonly called "umbrella nails", lead over iron nail.
