✅ SOLVED What is it? Some kind of license plate? Plot marker?

It's aluminum, about 6" long, has what appears to be screw holes on both ends for attaching it to something?!

I'm thinkin' maybe an old bicycle license plate, but there's nothing else on it but "3P" vertically.

Found in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Any ideas?

Might be an old telephone pole tag..

All I can think of is a telephone pole number. They are also aluminum and your number is designed to be attached to something that is vertical.
