Looks to me like it had corrosion or something corrosive on one side that came off. Is it silver or Clad? You should be able to tell from the edge.
 
Kinda looks silver. It looks different than corrosion. Where did u dig it city state?

Got it from a box of halves. And it's not corrosion you can trust me I'm an air craft mechanic. The flat part sits much higher than the dye almost like it wasn't pressed. And it's a 71 so I don't think it's silver.
 
Not likely huh. Wondered it looked to clean to be dug. Nice find. I thought it looked like a half stamped blank but I don't know without the flaw being raised like it is.
