When you mentioned the arrow head. I thought how much it resembled a "whistling arrow head". Try a google image search. My second thought is a small steam whistle. Maybe your lungs just don't have the force to make it whistle.

Reminds me of a metal shelf holder. It would screw into a metal base and a shelf would slide in the slot. You would have 4 of them. Otherwise, I agree with relic lover - could be a bear or cougar whistle! :laughing7:

AARC is on the right track...

It's part of a cigarette holder.

I have seen this before...... but where (and what)?

Is this a tip for one of those tools for fishing wires into walls and other blind spaces you can't reach?

Looks like a wire fed welding tip the someone modified. Size is right too.

This is a good one, and vhs07 came up with a very close ID, but the items in his pic are tips from a wire feed welder, which is what I think yours is because of the course threads, BUT...

Here's an item I found in a toolbox on the back of this old steel wheel McCormick Deering tractor that I think is from about the 1920's. There were several in the box, but the guy was a corn farmer and saw miller, and there were no wire welders when that tractor ran, so I'm at a loss for my piece because this has fine threads.

But I can say for sure Native Americans were not making any threaded brass pipes or whistles.

I'm pretty sure this is made of bone or something similar

Search bone cigarette holders

Maybe someone thought they'd make a whistle out of an antique bone needle case. :dontknow:
