WHAT IS IT?

Found this small item while out digging recently but have no clue what it might be off of!? NOT a valuable relic, I'm sure but I'm always intrigued to see how the experts on this site can figure out WHAT IT IS even from the smallest items! Appears to be made of brass about 1 inch round! Had a iron pin of some sort in the middle! Thought maybe a gear from a watch or some like device! Let's see what the educated guesses come up with! THANKS!

I'd guess that was what it was too but now looking at the inner workings of a clock, I don't see a single wheel without sprockets for it to turn! But you're guess is better than mine! Thanks for responding!
