Mine was a farm where an old town used to be. I pulled several silver coins, eagle buttons and the oldest coin found here (1776 Irish Half Penny). I also found a fireman's badge from the first fire truck in Methuen, Ma. that turned out to have belonged to a Union soldier who was imprisoned at Andesonville and died there. This site is about 40 miles from the prison.
The reason I lost permission to hunt it was because of trespassers sneaking onto the property and digging holes looking for Indian artifacts. I hope that the farmer will have a change of heart and allow me back on the land this fall after the harvest.
