What is the difference in the excaliburs??

What is the difference in the 2006-7 excal 1000 and the newer excal 2..

I believe when a company fixes something that isn't broken they use cheaper materials. The Excal II has a new hot green color, different coil and decals and a different battery. Also seems to have more problems than the 1000.

Some of the weakest links on the new Excalibur II's, they have done very poorly in maintaining the quality. But seems of late I've heard less about then before..So maybe they have retained the old standards? A few unseen internal changes, including some of Sandmans

This is what worries me. I would like to buy a new Excal (excal 2 technically I suppose), but I have heard a lot of complaints about failures with them. I turned down a 2 year old, unused one because if it was a bad unit I would be out of luck on getting it repaired under warranty.

I have used Minelabs for 20 years ... But i do talk them down sometimes just to get some minelab users upset and it works......... But there quality now has kept me away from buying a new one now... And i will not buy a used one now...........The reason from what i have seen the cost some have been charged for repairs..... So when my Sovereign dies...... After useing minelab's for 20 years Minelab and i will part company
