Just curious. My 1.3 ozt of 18kt bracelet was a whopper but I'm wondering if anyone has scored a bigger piece at a TS on the cheap. Monster chains? ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1470111856.230700.webp

Wow, around here in Dallas, if the thrift stores miss gold, there is probably a treasure hunter there daily to grab it. So I'll keep checking but haven't seen any as of yet.

Picked this up in a lot of jewelry when I first started buying gold and didn't know squat... Paid $50 for the lot and around $300 for the gold I seen and dis pull out and pay the people for. Got $2100 for the coin, the pendant and a chain. (Took money back to the elderly couple I bought the lot off of) over two ounces of gold in this piece alone!!

I've been seriously hunting thrifts/estate sales/etc for about 4 years & not so seriously for 30+. The biggest single item I ever scored on the cheap was around 1/4 ozt. I have picked up bags of junk jewelry cheap that had multiple pieces but not enough to equal 1.3 ozt of 18k.

Went to this garage sale but didn't find anything. gold-bars.webp

This is my biggest piece found. 14k ring I bought in a lot of jewelry for $10 total. In that lot I also found ~10 more grams of 14k and ~2 grams of 10k but those were all smaller pieces.

My wife has me stop at a local thrift store every now and then to add to her stock for resale. This one came out a tangle mess of about 12 necklaces. The total count for the necklaces were 1, 10kt chain, 1 10kt gold filled, 5, 14kt gold chians, 5 silver necklaces. the one shown was 14kt at 29.9 grams.
