✅ SOLVED What is this and how old might it be?

On Tuesday, a friend of mine returned to a site where he’s found a few Canadian Queen Victoria Large Cents. Along with a 1957 dog tag, an old button and newer buckle this ornate brass relic came out of the ground. This large piece measures 11 1/4" length x 1 3/4" wide, bottom ornate piece measures 3 1/4" wide x 2 1/4" height.

Any ideas on what exactly this large metal piece is and what it was used for would be appreciated.

Thanks for your help with this piece guys.
Through some online research I think I figured it out... I believe it's a Drape/Curtain ‘hold back’.

Let me know what you all think, if the consensus is that it's a curtain hold-back then I'll mark the thread as solved.
