I now own the infamous "rock with a hole in it" that my buddy had on his dresser for years. He said it was his grandfathers who found it "somewhere I dunno". Indian?

Man, I'm just not sure about that piece. The hole in the 2nd picture shows signs of it being drilled, but I have no clue what that piece may have been. Just not sure on that one.

Well it was free so I'm not out any money but what is it?

I mean it looks old, it feels old and it has a crude, uneven hole drilled through it. I dunno is right!

i dont know.maybe a net weight, tiered of wrapping the string around it so they drilled a hole in it...jamey

If the hole is uneven and not straight through then I doubt it was drilled which would make it a naturally occuring hole. That would mean it was probably a softer material in there at one time that has just eroded out and would mean that it probably isn't an artifact at all, just a geofact.

that sandstone would be great for straightening sticks into arrows...

The hole goes straight through it just has an uneven edge.
I don't know. Into the garden it goes.
