Hi!
I recently found this item while metal detecting and have no idea what it is. Any help in identifying the item or what it is worth would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time. Thanks
Gil

I just had to weigh in on this one. The confederates did mint coins in both gold and silver. The coin shown is not confederate but it is a beautiful coin! I am lucky enough
to live in the Corinth/Shiloh area and have been hunting civil war relics for several years. I have never seen or heard of a CSA marked silver ingot. If it is real it is worth a lot of money !!!!!!
The patina does not seem quite right. Silver that I find has a black tarnish, Lead has a white patina unless it has been underwater for a long time. There are several (copys) of confederate relics on the market some of these can be bought as souvenirs in the gift shop at the Shiloh and Corinth battlefields. Just my 2 cents. Personally I hope it's real.
