Found in Delaware farm field permission. 3” x 1 1/4” and pretty think

Unfortunately bent but it appears to be complete. Found with two thimbles and two copper half cents near by
Quite ornate. A unicorn with possible classic Greek geometric edging. I wonder what its intended purpose might have been. Maybe it was purely decorative, a trivet or inset into the lid of a jewelry/curio box. Thank you for posting it.

Don't know what it is but you have a nice assortment of cool stuff I would say you will likely find other interesting things nearby if you found theses couple in the same general location Keep on digging and posting your finds .

Interesting item. Bending it straight is an iffy proposition. Brass can and will stiffen with age and corrosion and the bent part can be harder than the rest. Sometimes old brass will crack when straightening. It can be annealed and straightened but you would lose all patina doing so.
