What is this button?

Dug this button/badge? at an old school site.
Appears to have a snap device like to hold it onto hat, clothes, uniform etc.
Any ideas?

I am wondering if the propeller is there to distinguish it from jet aircraft?

If you follow the link provided above you will see one that is similar but not smooth around the plane or bird dates to early 20. Then down farther one that is smooth like yours dates to wwII
