Can anyone help me identify this? I found it in Statesville, NC while hunting around a civil war camp. Doubt it was something the soldiers carried. Not sure what to make of it. This one might stump even the greatest of experts! lol

It's a Chinese New Year's charm.The outer band of images shows the 12 earthly branches on the coin represented by 12 different animals: the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and pig. Each animal symbolizes certain traits and characteristics for the year.
