What is this copper thing?

Found this yesterday. Seems to be solid copper and it has many thin copper bands gathered together on either side. Is it an electrical thing? Thanks folks!

Looks like a "flexible bus bar" for a high current device like a welder where slight movement between two parts is required.
Do a web search and you will find manufacturers with similar pictures.
