✅ SOLVED What is this dragon looking thing?

I thought I have seen something that looked like it here on TN before,I think what that person had they said went on the side of some kind of old gun's stock, but I am not sure if it was the same thing?It is brass, looks like some kind of dragon or serpent that is eating the loop?It has two somewhat large holes on each end and looks like its tail end might be missing.
