It's a brass bristle brush. Small. Was purchased in a gallon bag of office supply type stuff. The bristles are not real stiff. There is a patent date on the case but I do not know if this case is original to the brush. I just thought it was kind of neat and curious to what it's used for??? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
 

that patent number is for the hinge on the box and has nothing to do with the brush. Patent Images

I found out what it is! Thought I'd update.

As I was taking a picture of it I noticed the word Oxco. Started looking and found this photo showing this brush as a suede shoe brush. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1459448886.706892.webp sorry the pic is a screen shot of what I found online so it's blurry.
