I have found 4 of these lead objects, with the British coat of arms, as well as 3 other ones which have a shield with three Fleur De Li's in it.? The picture of the back has a British Union Jack scratched into the metal. The area where these were found was occupied in the late 1700s.? Any ideas ?? ??? Thanks? Lloyd Draper

These items are made from lead but have a gilt or gold covering on them. Some of them were folded in half when I found them. Thanks for the question. Lloyd

I would venture to say they are buttons.

The scratches on the back are very symmetrical, possibly from the backing that held them.
