Looks like one gnarly piece of jasper. The stuff we find in Oregon is a deeper red, but that is what it looks like to me.

about the hardness, you cannot scratch with you bare hand, its hard

Try scratching it with a knife blade. The color somewhat resembles coral. Where was it found? With this information, someone might be better able to identify it for you.

If you have a piece of quartz handy try scratching it with the quartz
Quartz has a varying hardness of 6-7

If quartz gives it a good scratch, (Quartz will scratch itself)
Try an ordinary piece of window glass
Glass has a hardness of 5

If the glass won't scratch iy you probably have a piece of Jasper, which is a quartz mineral.

could be tumbled Cinnabar. probable just feldspar.

Most people know that when you tumble things there are Gasses emitted.
These gasses would be kind of dangerous if the mineral were Cinnabar.
Cinnabar is an arsenic mineral....
Even toxic

I was thinking maybe tumbled in a riverbed, glacier, sand.

Without being able to test it ,my guess would be jasper also.

Cinnabar(HgS)(Mercury Sulfide)is a soft material(2-2.5 Mohs scale) and does not readily take a polish.Cinnabar can be scratched with a copper penny.

I am pretty sure it is not feldspar. It would be more pinkish. Jasper takes a polish really nice. With the right tools, it is beautiful cut and carved. Great find.
