There are words on the front but I can only make out "Spring St" or something very similar. On the back I make out "Chels Mass" any help would be great. Thanks again in advance.

I think it also says "Boston" on the back/top. With that thing being from Mass or Boston (I know... Boston is in Mass!) Everybody looked like the Quaker Oats guy! 8)

I think you will find it is a advertising pin for spring step shoes or heels, the guy is standing next to a rubber shoe heel. I think the back on the top says something rubber co. Chelsea Mass. they were a fairly common way of advertising products in the early 1900's
