Are there words, numbers, or any other markings on it under all the rust?

Thanks for making my pix smaller- I didn't realize they'd be so big. It appears that there's some writing on there but its too corroded to see what it says.looks like 4 letters tho. It's broken off of something-there is a hole or notch where its broken off. I was guessing a hitch of some sort?

Maybe an end of a connecting rod (between piston and camshaft) on a stationary farm engine?? Just a guess.
