I think it is from ww1. Found at ww1 camp. Would appreciate any help identifying this, it appears to be thin cooper on front and back, with material in between. Maybe asbestos?

head gasket

I finally knew one!!!!! It's what's left of a head gasket to a car, or tractor,etc...Engine of some kind! almost 100% positive! Or gasket of some kind! And yes, I do believe the old ones did have asbestos in between thin layers of metal.

Some examples, could even be from a small engine. But the water ports make me think a water cooled flathead, because of shape. Or maybe even exhaust gasket?
