Being in the automotive business for several years, it looks to be a side moulding retainer early to late 60's.

It is a Brenneke shotgun slug.

A screw was used to hold the wad on the back. If you search for Brenneke component shotgun slugs, you will find a youtube video where the guy rotates the slug around so that you can see the screw.

Thank you! My gut told me it had something to do with hunting because all I have found in this area are 12 gauge shells and many of them! Solved, I appreciate it
