I dug this in a field near my home. It's some kind of brass or bronze cap that is threaded on the inside. I don't have a clue what it may have fit onto? Has anyone ever seen one of these?

Dang. I didn't notice my fat toes were there. The grease cup sounds right. It has a hardened crust inside that could be old dried grease.
