What is this, and what was it used for??
Any ideas?
Pictures were taken on a paper which shows dimensions in centimeters.

looks like the end part of an old razor -- should be able to find GEM on the net

Under condition, that you know it's a razor. I was searching in Goggle for "GEM", found a lot of strange things... ::)

But when I started looking for "GEM razors", everything was clear.
