No idea but its a beauty! Looks old and appears to be navy/artillery. Great find! Can we hear some details on how it was found?

It doesn't have any writing on the back from what I can tell ....
 
It may be an old Marine corps button sure is in nice condition..congrats ..

that almost looks confederate. nice find, hope someone chimes in with an id
 
union navy brass belt buckle: eagle clutching anchor, 3 canon balls below anchor all inside a ring of 13 stars and ropy circle with laurel leaves around entire buckle. No marks at all on reverse.
