I have often wondered while doing research what exactly makes a town a town? Does it have to be incorporated? or is it as simple as just having a post office and zip code?
What makes me wonder is, up here in NoDak there are a lot of ghost towns and some of them have no more than 2 or 3 buildings and a max populations of under 1000 people in the history of the town.
