I went to two of the local schools with large, multi-use lawn areas yesterday afternoon. First one produced the only coins and a cool "CAT" (Caterpillar) piston key fob yesterday, but the large pine trees offered temporary shelter during the downpour...
Went to a second school and hit the lawn around the tot lot and found all the trinkets and charms. Went out to a large section of lawn I had not detected yet and found the WWJD (What Would Jesus Do?) ring, made of pewter or a similar metal. As the sun sank into the western sky, I made a few more passes and got a 73 signal on the ATPro. I thought, "another older Lincoln cent," but dug it anyway. Glad I did! I cut a large plug around this target and hit a big flat rock about 2" beneath the grass. Flipped the plug and saw the big ring staring at me in the twilight! Sitting right on top of the flat rock...
Inspection proved the ring to be a man's wedding band, marked 14K and HSJ inside. It weighs in at 8.5 grams. These are rings #3 and #4 for the month of April. Thanks for looking, happy hunting to all, and DIG THOSE PENNY SIGNALS! Sub
