what the heck is it, an IRON KEY??

went out for an hour today, found what looks like some sort of key. never seen one before and was just curious. it looks interesting....thanks for your help on any info. i know this will be solved quickly! this was found in a heavily fur trade site.

Yes, it sure is. Shanegalang just found one of those in our Colonial site here in Louisiana. Broken about the same place as yours. It is in his 8Reales post in Today's Finds.
