So...found this in today's bag, a '69 S(?). Absolutely no idea what would've caused this sort of look though, any insight would be appreciated!

Also pulled a VERY nice 2009 cabin, almost seems thicker than others I have

As well as a nice shiny '58 wheat

Exactly, all except like 12:00-3:00 or so. "We trust" is kinda normal, but yeah... I'm almost wondering if someone tried cleaning it with something really harsh or something, but no idea

Wow, that looks like the ‘69S double die but it looks kind over the top. That one is worth a second look by an expert!

No it doesn't. The coin appears to have been heated at some time. Also correct term is "doubled" die.

Thanks for the insight! I figured someone used one hell of a cleaner on it or something, didn't think it'd be something from the mint, unless it was an insanely deteriorated/loose die. Regardless, still think its a neat looking coin, not something ya see everyday.

I agree with Enamel. I think heat is the only thing that would cause those flow lines(I think that's the proper term) radiating out from the coin's features.

That penny was at Woodstock. Minted the same year...
