What time frame is this from?

If someone could tell me anything about this brass spike, like what time frame, or what its from I would greatly appreciate it. I found it in the water of the nanticoke river in Delaware.
All I can tell is that it is a hand hammered brass spike about 2 inches long (probably 4-5 inches if it was complete) and a 1/2 inch wide.

That is a shipbuilding spike! From the age of wooden ship building. Do a little research in your area for any shipbuilders and you should have your time period...ballpark would be 1700 to 1900...sorry I couldn't be more specific.
