I sole an item on ebay for 27 plus shipping. Immediately after the auction ends the buyer contacts me saying he isn't paying 27$ for this game yadda yadda he entered $550 instead of 5.50. What should I do just realist the item and forget it or open an unpaid case

I would let the bid be canceled and then relist. The amount that was entered may or may not be true, but if he is forced to buy the item he will find a reason to return it.

Could you offer a second chance offer to next highest bidder? I've done this a few times and none have ever taken the offer. But who knows it may work?!?

Happens to me about once a month. Cancel the order, make sure you put buyer requests you cancel, and relist with a buy it now/ best offer at 30 plus shipping.

This.

Cancel as buyer requested = no defects and a little lost time
Open case and make him pay = most likely a return or negative = defect either way = even more lost time, etc.
