what to look for

what exactly do you look for on Google maps when it comes to looking for places to hunt ? I live in Illinois and do more coin hunting than anything else. And can anyone tell me if Flash Earth is any good to use...such as Google earth. Thanks for any help you can offer !!!

Around my parts, I've been able to see covered wagon trails, older roads/pathways that lead to a clearing, areas near rivers that seem to have been"cut out" of trees on Google Earth. Google Earth will also pop up little points of interest that will sometimes leads to interesting places.

After Google earth, I then try to "line up" spots with Google maps.
