I picked up a couple of items but I'm so daft when it comes to certain types of metals. I've tried looking up how to identify metals but nothing seems to be exact and now I am just plain curious.
The first thing is a couple of tins. I'm not sure what they were used for or how old they are but they have the number 72 on the back. I'm assuming they are brass.
The other are a salt and pepper shaker. They are both heavy. I was thinking pewter for the salt shaker but I thought pewter was a softer metal. It's dark gray in color.
The pepper shaker is a brown color. When I scratch my nail on a small part of the bottom of the pepper shaker there's a silver color underneath.
The salt shaker has 541 on it and the pepper shaker has A.5.S.
