As long as you love it.....surveying will expose you to more MD sites than any other occupation. Another plus, you will have the ability to do research beyond others, just knowing how to work the courthouse systems. Start reading old journals, find out whose farm had the grove picnics, and off you go to the courthouse. Surveying at times will seem like a curse in a way, it is not easy, that is why few people do it. You need doged determination, solid, I mean solid work ethic, and willingness to always learn. When I am reading a deed and see calls for stones at corners, I get determined to find them. Anyone can find a pin, pipe, or railroad spike, the ones who are determined find the original calls.
