Doesn't have to be too hot to touch, it's the thermal shock of hot in cold glass or cold in hot glass, it could be cheap thin glass too.

Haven't used our dish washer in 10+ years, but I have broken glasses by pouring cold liquid in glass just after washer finished. It is called thermal shock If you are smart you learn quickly to wait 5 mins on a glass that just finished the drying stage.
