Whats a used Garrett GTA x500 worth? is it good?

Someone wants me to make a offer on one, he said he bought it a number of years ago but never got in the hobby and it works excellent... I just sold my GMT and am looking for something for a beginner (like me ) So is this machine good? What do you think its worth? I was thinking of offering $50 or so? He said he would trade it for some guns but I dont have any lol..

If you get that GTA for $50 then you stole it from him. It's worth at least $150 and is a pretty nice detector. I would say it's better than the 250 that everyone and their mom has and raves about. I do know it's built really well but doesn't have the belltone the 1000 has.

I haven,t found anyplace cheaper for used EQPT.You may find a used 350 for abt 100 on ebay,though.
