The latch looks older, say 50s-60s, maybe older. "A.S.N." could be initials or stand for Army Serial Number, followed by the number. My dad was in WWII and he had a number like that. Now they use people's SSNs, but back then it was an 8-digit number like that. Worth??? Probably not much except to the owner.
