whats the difference between prospector and tracker IV

Actually the only real difference is the coil.
I believe the Prospector has a closed coil and the Tracker has an open coil. Early Bass Pro Shop version of the tracker IV. Still works the same.
Bass Pro Shop also offered the Prospector DX which is a actually a Landstar.
The controls and operating system are the same.
Keep the Prospector and have fun. Buy different coils based on your needs.
