What's the next step ?

Hi to all fans of the latest Olympic Sport of Coin Hunting. I now have a huge pile of 40% coins and a growing pile of 90% ers. What do you all suggest I do with them(other than send them all out to youse guys). Would you sit on them for awhile until silver creeps back up or would you try that thing about sending 1000 coins to a smelter in return for a 100 oz bar and a check for $500 ? (Does anyone have a link to this outfit?) I have looked at some completed ebay auctions and the ebay fees and pay pal fees are making the auctions seem mostly a waste of time. How about putting books of coins together ? Seems like a pain in the butt but they seem to get a small premium for the finished books.
BTW, as a bit of humor, I went into a small bank in North Central Texas which is the home of Larry Hagman. I asked the tellers for any halves and was greeted by a round of laughs. They told me I was the 10th customer looking for halves that day.

You will find more coins if you get out of the big city and park your car and go inside the bank instead of using the drive-thru.

Great story about that Texas bank! Got a feeling lots of banks are giving the same responses.

As far as what to do, it really varies from person to person. Some are sitting on their hoard until silver hits $XX/oz., others plan to pass it on to future generations. I like to cash in at the local coin shop. Getting something tangible in return makes the scores of trips to banks and casinos that much more worthwhile. The last time I did was January and it paid for a vacation I took in Dec. and then some.

eBay can be one route for sales but I recently did a couple of auctions and had 50/50 success. I joined them way back in 1998 when they were fewer users, restrictions and fees. Now it's a haven for power sellers. Unless you have something unique to sell, your auction can easily get buried.

I am not sure of the details, but I have occasionally seen coins for sale in the collectibles section of craigslist.org.

I don't think there are any fees, but you have to arrange the details for payment/shipment between you and the buyer. It is not an auction site, but if you know what you want for the coins and know what they are worth, it may be an option.
