Looks like metamorphic origin. The predominant minerals
On the outside appear to be garnets, with elemental impuries giving the color variations.

One side appears to be the contact to host rock and the other side appears to be in part a cavity section which allowed tge minerals to have "boil" like mineral growth structure and more sizeable crystal (grain) size.
