Yesterday I took the afternoon off and headed out to an iron infested site. I have found several wheat's at this site over the past few months but no silver as of yet. When i say iron infested i truly mean it. Every sweep of the coil sounded like a machine gun firing in full auto! The way around it on the Impact is to turn the iron audio down to a manageable level and sweep slow. I was using the DI4 mode with the stock coil.
Imagine my surprise when this popped out of the ground! The wheat is fused and surrounded by a blob of iron!
I think i will keep the coin and iron together and toothpick the coin for better display. I guess i will never know the year of the penny...its fused face down.

After an hour of dealing with the iron, i decided to head out and find a quick permission....I found a lady working in her yard and got the go ahead.
The house was built in the early 1900's and looked very promising. Unfortunately, nothing popped out of the ground but i did manage to find my first surface Indian next to a tree. It was lying face down in the dirt and sounded off in the 70s.
I just wish the back was as pretty as the front!
Anyhow, Happy hunting everyone!
