This afternoon i went to a field nearby. It's on the list because it's near a roman settlement which brought roman and celtic finds before. Wheat was cut very high so swinging the coil is difficult. I stopped after 2 hrs and will give it a try again after plowing.
A medieval annular brooch and an annular buckle, tell the field was in use from roman times on. One of the first signals was the Seoul 1988 key fob, nicely gold plated and showing the rim in the plug. Heart stopper for a second! I'm very pleased with the double loop annular buckle. It's a first for the collection. Coins are 19thC. other than the 50Pfennig pieces. Being aluminum they give a killer signal and look silver in the plug....
Tomorrow we try again!
