When is the best time to hit the beaches after Earl?

I live in Rhode Island, about 30 minutes from the ocean. Earl is going by now and is picking things up a bit.

Im wondering, if I get the chance to go down to the beaches early in the morning does it matter about the storm? Does low or high tide matter? Is there a right way to detect a beach after a big storm like Earl? Will it make a difference with what I might find?

How does the weather affect your detecting- do you go out right after or during a rain storm, etc?

What are your thoughts?

Id say low tide would be best. Any place there is erosion, is the place I would hit. Good luck, and stay safe.

I'll vote for low tide too, but also I'd wait for the storm to pass before I decided to venture out there ;D

Wheres your sence of adventure Spart? ::) Oh wait thats an eye roll, is that one of the things you hated? :dontknow: :laughing9: Just kiddin with ya on this Friday night as I wait for Earl. :icon_pirat: :coffee2:

LOL, definitely not going out there now! I lack that much adventure too!

So low tide, look for erosion, is there any other favorite spots people like after a good storm?

You may be right, it seems Earl is packing the punch they thought it would. I guess I'll even be lucky to see any rain at this point... And I am not far from the NJ shore :tongue3: Maybe I'll take a ride over to Seaside, if it's not good to hunt then I'll look for Snookie and her cast of idiot friends :laughing7:

There ya go Spart. Always good to have a plan. You take Snook, Im more of a Jwow man myself. I think for obvious reasons. :laughing7: I hate that show. The GF watches it and so I guess I get stuck sometimes too. Nothing happening here yet, but dont think we are suppose to get much til later on tonight. 8)

Go out before the next high tide after the storm before things get washed back out into the sea.
