Where did the white man go wrong?

An old Indian chief sat in his hut on the reservation, smoking a ceremonial pipe and eyeing two US government officials sent to interview him.

"Chief Two Eagles," asked one official, "You have observed the white man for 90 years. You've seen his wars and his material wealth. You've seen his progress, and the damage he's done."

The chief nodded that it was so.

The official continued, "Considering all these events, in your opinion, where did the white man go wrong?"

The chief stared at the government officials for over a minute and then calmly replied, "When white man found the land, Indians were running it. No taxes, no debt, plenty buffalo, plenty beaver, women did all the work, medicine man free, Indian man spent all day hunting and fishing, all night having sex."

Then the chief leaned back and smiled, "Only white man dumb enough to think he could improve system like that!"

Would Tuesday of this week be recently enough to satisfy you?

Not sure where that question came from, but it's ok.

Find anything good lately?

I am the tincan king. Been working on my property the last few weeks. It has been exceptionally hot here in southeast Arkansas, so it's been a little at a time. But, apparently there was a tribe of "Old Milwaukee" living here for quite some time, as almost everything coming out of the ground has that name on it.

Did find a bit of lead (I believe, as they look like the business end of a .22 long rifle cartridge) and some pieces of brass (from a .22 long rifle cartridge). I also found an old burnpile with plenty of old nails (no square ones though) and various uninteresting bits of broken metal and more broken glass than you can shake a stick at.

I am a Native American so I have left the burial mound alone and have no plans to disturb it.

I had this boil come up on my left knee though . . . enough details yet?

Smee, don't worry about what the "Boy" says. He's only trying to show himself ahead of others. Small people NEED that.

If nothing else, you need a book on comebacks. Really now.:D

Yup, Smee, That was a great way of life. I would have loved to experience it.
