I have my new water detector and getting ready to hit an old lake beach. Does anyone know how deep to go into the water to find the good stuff? There has got to be an area where more Jewelry is lost than any other. Any thoughts on the subject would be greatly appreciated. I am new to water hunting and will take any and all advice.

Thanks and HH!

how deep doesn't matter i have found gold in 2 inches of water as will as all the way up to my neck. what you do is look for the cuts in the water or the stone or clay bottoms that is what every thing goes down to through the sand. Look at where the people play, go to the beach when it is busy and study the people and then go back after they have left and hunt where you saw them playing. good luck i hope you find a lot. ;D

here is a picture of the beach I am going to be searching the problem is it stopped being a public beach in 1925 when the pavillion burned. Its now a bunch of houses. This picture was taken in 1910.

Get out there and search like crazy, start waist deep and head out till your nose is just above water, then search it all over again and again. good luck

Hey good luck, and happy hunting!!!! You may want to wait till low tide. Look for the hightide and lowtide mark, hunt smack in the middle, in a zig zag motion.

Good luck!
