Hi guys,

I have been doing a lot of research and reading on the forums and after having owned an ACE 250 for awhile I am looking to get a deeper machine (and without a visual id system) and I have narrowed my next purchase to the following 3 (in non-preferential order): Tejon, Vaquero, Outlaw. However, since I have just recently moved to South Carolina I am concerned about whether or not the Tejon would have any issues with the soil here. So my question to you guys is what system do you think would work best given the soil conditions for depth. I would consider myself more of a relic hunter so depth to me is important.

Thanks! :happysmiley:

Just wondering what you didn't like about the Ace250,if it's the visual id ,couldn't you just cover it up with some paper & tape,or just not look at it.

The Tejon is chatty because it is so sensitive, but very deep and an excellent relic hunter. The Vaquero, well, it is the most underated VLF metal detector on the market today. Good Luck!

Hi.I live in south Carolina and the soil is neutral.I have the tejon and it is a great detector.

Thanks everyone for your responses! I have decided to go with the Vaquero for my next purchase. It has been proven to be a great detector and I think it will be a little bit more adaptable to soil conditions if I travel/visit other locations.

Produce: I don't have anything against the ACE 250. I just would like a deeper detector and I personally would like to try a strictly beep and dig model hence the Tesoro models. I still plan on hanging onto the ACE 250 as a backup or for strictly coin shooting.
SpiritRelic: Thank you so much for the info on the soil condition. I Googled it and couldn't seem to find any straight answer! Much appreciated!

Keep us updated on your experiences with the Vaquero. I'm leaning toward the Vaquero myself and I'm always interested in other folks first hand knowledge.
