White Coinmaster

Does anyone out there know what other type of battery can be used in the coin master? I purchased a coin master for my grandson at an auction and it still had the original battery in it. I was told that they don't make that kind of a battery anymore. The metal detector it self looks like a little blue mailbox.

I have the 5000D Coinmaster and Radio Shed sells an 8 place AA battery holder for $1.99 with a 9volt type plug in. That is 12 volts output. Works great. If yours runs on 12 volts.

Can you post a photo of the battery compartment, or the exact model number on the the battery door? This might be a really old Coinmaster with tube circuitry, and the batteries will be far more than you want to pay.
